Measures Overview

On a plan, a measure is used to store quantitative values that contain numerical data like the number of hours, amount, dual value, and so on. In addition to storing a numeric value, you can create formulas to calculate the value of a measure. You must create all the necessary measures before you can create a plan.

When creating a plan, you can select up to six measures. If you want to create a plan from data in Analytics, you must first map the Extended Planning and Analysis measures to the equivalent measures in the dataset. You can do this while creating the data source, as part of the wizard. If you want to add a measure mapping to an existing data source, you can use the Measure Mappings related list of the data source record page.
