Selecting Serial Numbers for a Customer Return Line
You can select customer return serial numbers as follows:
You can add item serial numbers associated with the originating sales order line to the serial numbers related list in the customer return line as follows:
- Select the customer return line you want to add serial numbers to.
- Click Select Serial Numbers in the Customer Return Line detail view.
- Select the serial numbers you want to add to the customer return line.
- Click Save.
You can add item serial numbers associated with the originating sales order line to the customer return line in Classic mode from a customer return as follows:
- Select the customer return line you want to add serial numbers to.
- Note the sales order line and item that is associated with the customer return line.
- Open the Serial Numbers tab.
- Click Go to display all the available serial numbers.
- Select a serial number that is associated with the sales order line and item.
- Add the Customer return line number to the customer return line field in the Return Information section of the serial number page.
- Click Save.
- Add more serial numbers as required for the customer return line.
The maximum number of serial numbers you can select cannot exceed the To Return value on the customer return line. The total number of serial numbers associated with the customer return line is indicated in the Total Serial Numbers field on the customer return line.
The Serial Number Status field indicates the selection status of the serial numbers associated with the customer return line:
- - indicates that more serial numbers are required.
- - indicates that all the required serial numbers have been entered on the customer return line.
If no icon displays in the serial number status field then no serial numbers a required for the customer return line.
