Submitting Timecards for Approval

You can submit timecards for approval if your administrator has configured an approval process on your org. The approver can approve or reject submitted timecards depending on the approval process. You might not be able to edit a timecard after you have submitted it unless you have administrator permissions. A warning message might be displayed if you enter a timecard that contains zero or negative hours.

Note:

If the Enable Timecard Async Submit custom setting field in the Timecard Entry UI Global custom setting is enabled by your administrator, and the approval process fails, the notification is delayed due to the asynchronous process. When you click the notification from the bell icon it redirects you either to the Project Time Entry LWC UI page or the Sencha page, depending on how your administrator has configured . You can view the statuses of your timecards. The failed or submitted timecards are rolled back to saved status again with a red triangle. Hover over the red triangle to view the error message.

If you have submitted a timecard from the Time Entry page, recall it to update task hours. You cannot update task hours for an approved timecard in Time Entry.

Your administrator will also have configured one of the following options for the Time Entry page for the submission of timecards:

  • Submit selected timecards only. You can select the checkboxes of specific timecards, and click Submit. Unsaved timecards are saved, but only the selected timecards are submitted.
  • Submit all timecards. To submit all timecards without selecting any checkboxes, click Submit. Any unsaved timecards are saved before being submitted.
