The Information section includes the following fields.

Information Fields on the PS Cloud Analytics Setup Record

Field

Description

Active

If selected, the record is used to create your PS Cloud Core Analytics app. You can have only one active PS Cloud Analytics Setup record.

PS Cloud Analytics Setup Name

System-generated name for the PS Cloud Analytics Setup record.

Utilization Calculation Type

Defines the utilization datasets created in your app as follows:

  • If Utilization Results is selected, it creates the Utilization Results dataset. This is required to create the Utilization Results dashboard in the PS Cloud Core Analytics, and the PSA Performance Overview, PSA Utilization Analytics Capacity and Demand Planning, and PSA Skills Capacity and Demand Planning dashboards in the PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app.
  • If Utilization Summary/Details is selected, it creates two datasets: Utilization and Capacity. These are required to create the PSA Overview, PSA Utilization, PSA Capacity, and the PSA Capacity and Demand Planning dashboards in the PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app.
  • If Both Calculation Types (for migration purposes) is selected, it creates the Utilization Results, Capacity , and Utilization datasets.

Date Handling

The Date Handling section includes the following fields.

Date Handling Fields on the PS Cloud Analytics Setup Record

Field

Description

Fiscal Year Start Month

The starting month of your fiscal year. PS Cloud Analytics uses your time period records or your org configuration to identify which month you have assigned as the start of your fiscal year. You can accept the default month of January, or manually select the start month of your fiscal year from the drop-down list. The value you select determines the date ranges for the fiscal quarters and fiscal years displayed in PS Cloud Analytics.

Data Options

The Data Options section includes the following fields.

Data Options Fields on the PS Cloud Analytics Setup Record

Field

Description

Backlog

If selected, the Backlog dataset is created in your PS Cloud Core Analytics app, which is used to create the Backlog and PSA Overview dashboards in the PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app.

Note:

This setting controls the data displayed in the Backlog chart in the PSA Backlog, PSA Overview Dashboard and PSA Performance Summary Dashboard.

EvA Historical Data Limit

The historical data limit to apply to EvAs included in your app as follows:

  • If --None-- is selected, all historical and future EvAs are included in your app.

  • If Include Previous Year is selected, all future EvAs, plus historical EvAs from the previous year, are included in your app.

  • If Include Previous Two Years is selected, all future EvAs, plus historical EvAs from the previous two years, are included in your app.

The value selected in this field determines the filter applied to the sync node for the Est Vs Actuals object. For more information about sync nodes, see the Salesforce Help.

Project Margin

If selected, the Project Margin dataset and Total Project Margin (Workspace) dashboard are created in your PS Cloud Core Analytics app. This dataset is also required to create the Total Project Margin (Workspace) dashboard in your PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app.

You must have Project Actuals Converted records in your PSA data environment to create this dataset. For more information, see Preparing the Data Environment for PS Cloud Analytics.

Revenue Management Fields

If selected, the following Revenue Management fields are included in the Project Reporting dataset in your PS Cloud Core Analytics app:

  • Actuals Template ID
  • Project Cost Amortized
  • Project Revenue Recognized
  • Project Total Cost Amortized
  • Project Total Revenue Recognized
Note 1:

The Actuals Template ID field is populated from the Actuals Template field on projects, milestones, timecard splits, expenses, and miscellaneous adjustments. This is an unmanaged field in your org. Depending on how your org is set up, it might have a different label or it might not be available on all five PSA objects. By default, the API name of the field is ffrrtemplate__c. This is defined in the Actuals Template field on the Revenue Management Settings custom setting.

Note 2:

The fields that contain the recognized to date and the amortized to date values for a project are determined using your Revenue Management settings for the Project object. If a source field is not specified in the settings records, the field is not included in the Project Reporting dataset. In addition, if you have multiple settings records for the Project object, you must ensure that all of the records have the same values for the relevant source fields.

Note 3:

This requires access to Revenue Management objects and fields in your org. It also requires access to the fields that contain the values on the Project, Milestone, Timecard Split, Expense, and Miscellaneous Adjustment objects. Both you and the Integration User must have PSA and Revenue Management licenses, as well as access to the relevant objects and fields.

For more information about these fields and how they are populated, see Project Reporting Flow Intermediate Processing and Project Reporting Dataset Output Fields.

Revenue Forecast

If selected, the following are created:

  • Revenue Forecast dataset in your PS Cloud Core Analytics app. This dataset requires you to have revenue forecast and revenue forecast version records in your PSA data environment. For more information, see Preparing the Data Environment for PS Cloud Analytics.
  • PSA Revenue Forecast dashboard in your PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app.
Note:

This setting also controls the data displayed in the Revenue Forecast chart in the PSA Overview dashboard and PSA Performance Summary dashboard.

Services CPQ

If selected, data derived from Services CPQ is added to the Project Reporting dataset, which is used to create the PSA Services CPQ Estimator and PSA Services CPQ Estimate Manager dashboards in the PS Cloud Core Analytics app. To add Services CPQ data to the Project Reporting dataset, you must have Estimate, Estimate Task, and Estimate Role Request records in your Services CPQ data environment. For more information, seePreparing the Data Environment for PS Cloud Analytics.

Task Time If selected, Task Time data is added to the Project Reporting dataset in your PS Cloud Core Analytics app.

Optional Data Security

The Optional Data Security section includes the following fields.

Optional Data Security Fields on the PS Cloud Analytics Setup Record

Field

Description

Object Sharing

If selected, your org's PSA object sharing model is used to control the data displayed in PS Cloud Core Analytics. This setting is also used to control the data displayed in the Billings, Project Reporting, and Project Margin datasets. If enabled, users can only view records related to the objects they have access to. If disabled, all users with access to Analytics that share the app can view the data for all PSA records.

Note:

PS Cloud Analytics supports sharing with Salesforce public groups and their member users. If a group contains any subgroups, you must share the access to each child group separately.

For more information, see PS Cloud Analytics Object Sharing Model.

Revenue Forecasting Permission Controls

If selected, permission controls from PSA are applied to the Revenue Forecast dataset and PSA Revenue Forecastdashboard in the PS Cloud Core Analytics dashboard. If disabled, all users with access to Analytics that share the app can view all revenue forecast data.

For more information, see Preparing the Data Environment for PS Cloud Analytics.

Utilization Results Hierarchy Mode

The hierarchy mode to apply to the Utilization Results dataset as follows:

  • If Role Field On User Object is selected, users can view utilization results for users they are above in the hierarchy.
  • If Manager Field On User Object is selected, users can view utilization results for users they manage.
  • If Reports To field On User Object is selected, users can view utilization results for users that report to them.

For more information on their usage in security predicates, see Security Predicate Value Examples.

Utilization Results Permission Controls

If selected, applies permission controls from the PSA View All Utilization field to the Utilization Results dataset and associated dashboards in your PS Cloud Core Analytics and PS Cloud Advanced Analytics apps. This enables users with access to Analytics that share the app to view all utilization results data.

For more information, see Permission Control Fields

Utilization Results Security Mode

The security mode to apply to the Utilization Results dataset as follows:

  • If Individual is selected, the security is applied to allow resources to access their own data only.
  • If Hierarchy is selected, access will also be provided to the resource's manager based on the field selected in Hierarchy mode.
