(Beta) Dated Resource Rates - Limitations of Use in PSA

The dated resource rates feature is Beta functionality in this release of PSA. Do not adopt it except in sandbox environments. Further development is required to deliver a fully functional solution.

In Summer 2025, resource requests and assignments can be linked to rate cards with dated resource bill rates. Timecards submitted against assignments that use dated resource bill rates will use those rates.

Dated resource bill rates linked to resource requests and assignments are used when calculating EVAs, and when running project revenue forecasts using the Deliverable recognition method.

Other functional areas have limited support for, or are incompatible with, dated resource rates. In particular:

• Dated resource cost rates are not supported in PSA, even though there are fields referring to dated resource cost rates on the Resource Request objects.
• Analytics and reports that use an assignment's Bill Rate field, or a resource request's Suggested Bill Rate field, to calculate how much the record could be billed for will not function if the record is using dated resource bill rates.
• Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with dated resource rates, in either Services Estimator or PSA.

This list is not exhaustive. Further issues might exist in other areas of the Certinia products.
