Resource Request Staffer Overview

Resource Request Staffer enables you to staff resource requests with resources in bulk by:

  • Matching resources
  • Shortlisting resources
  • Holding resources
  • Assigning resources
Note:

This feature is based on intelligent staffing and works optimally when staffing a large number of resource requests. For smaller staffing requirements, we recommend using the Resourcing tab on a resource request record, which also utilizes intelligent staffing. For more information, see Intelligent Staffing for a Resource Request and Managing Resource Requests.

Resource Request Staffer Tabs

Resource Request Staffer includes two tabs, Open Requests and Match Results. You can perform different actions from each one.

Open Requests Tab

The Open Requests tab displays resource requests with a start date after today's date that are not matched, and do not have the Auto-Hold or Auto-Assign checkbox selected. From this tab, you can:

  • Filter the resource requests
  • Define priorities and weightings
  • View the details of suggested resources
  • Match resources

The order in which rows are displayed determines the priority of the resource requests during the matching process. You can reorder the resource requests by dragging and dropping them using Move rows. To reorder multiple resource requests simultaneously, select each resource request before dragging and dropping them. Copying rows is not permitted.

By default, the resource requests are sorted in ascending order according to their start date. You can click any column header to sort the resource requests according to the column value.

You can right-click the column header of a picklist or lookup field to group the resource requests by the column value. Alternatively, select the field in the Group By drop-down list in the grid's toolbar. When resource requests are grouped, they can only be reordered within their respective groups.

For more information, see Open Resource Requests Fields.

Match Results Tab

The Match Results tab displays the outcome of resource matching, including resource requests successfully matched with resources and any errors. From this tab, you can:

  • Filter the resource requests
  • View the details of suggested and matched resources
  • Clear matched resources
  • Shortlist matched resources
  • Hold matched resources
  • Assign matched resources
  • Click Click to view details. or Click to view details. on a resource request's row to view details of any issue encountered during the matching process.
