New Features and Enhancements in Financial Planning and Analysis May 2026

The following new features have been introduced in the May 2026 release of Financial Planning and Analysis.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Financial Planning and Analysis May 2026. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than Spring 2026, check the documentation for previous releases for upgrade details.

Configure a Primary and Secondary Measure for a Plan

You might have two measures that represent the same value, but in different units of measure, for example, Home and Dual. You can now pair these two measures to:

  • Work in the primary measure, for example, Home, and then be able to view the plan in the secondary measure, for example, Dual.
  • Edit a cell in the primary measure and automatically update the matching value in the secondary measure, applying the relevant conversion rate.
  • Update the primary and secondary measures with the latest data in Analytics independently, without applying a conversion rate.
  • Send both the primary and secondary measures to Analytics for reporting purposes.

For more information, see Measure Pairs and Switching Between the Primary and Secondary Measures in a Plan.

You can configure the measure pair when creating a plan or a plan template. For more information, see:

Configure User Access to Plan Features

You can now create feature access rules to control which actions specific users can perform within a plan. Each feature access rule grants or restricts access to individual features, such as editing or adjusting cells, creating scenarios, sending plans to Analytics, editing relationships, or using the Formula Builder. This complements the existing cell access rules, which restrict editing of specific plan cells.

When multiple feature access rules apply to a user, the least restrictive rule is used. This means that, if any of the rules grants access to a feature, the user can use that feature.

For more information, see Access Rules and Feature Access Rules.

We have also introduced the WorkGrid - Contribute to Plans permission set that is optimized for users contributing to plans from a related record's page.

Mention Collaborators in Cell Comments

You can now mention your coworkers in plan cell comments so that they clearly know what requires their attention. Depending on how you configure the org, mentioned users can receive an email and a Salesforce notification with a direct link to the comment. Users who previously commented on the thread are also notified about any replies.

You can also use the new Mentioned In filter within a specific scenario to quickly find the threads you have been mentioned in.

For more information, see Cell Comments in Plans.

Relationship Child Row Repositioning

You can now change the placement of your child plans within the parent plan during single and multiple plan creation. This enables you to save time by customizing the organization of your plan's relationships during plan creation. For more information, see Creating a Blank Plan, Creating a Plan from a Plan Template, Creating a Plan from a Data Source, and Creating Multiple Plans from a Plan Template.
