New Features and Enhancements in Services Estimator May 2026

The following new features have been introduced in the May 2026 release of Services Estimator.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Services Estimator May 2026. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than Spring 2026, check the documentation for previous releases for upgrade details.

Maintain Data Integrity in Estimate Builder

We have refined the interaction logic in the Estimate Builder to ensure consistent behavior when switching between pricing methods and billing types. This update prevents invalid data states by automatically validating field compatibility — such as clearing discounts or blocking dated rates — when selections are changed. These improvements provide a more reliable user experience and maintain high data integrity throughout the estimation process.

For more information, see Estimate Pricing Method Overview.

Optimize Estimate Management using Estimate Product Items

You can now mark estimate product items as default, meaning they are pre-selected when adding products to an estimate. This enables you to more efficiently manage your estimates, streamlining the process of manually selecting products to add to an estimate.

Additionally, you can now choose which estimate product items to include when adding an estimate product to an estimate. This is useful when a single estimate product contains items for several scenarios — for example, small, medium, and large business deployments — and you only want to add the items that apply to your current estimate.

You can also assign custom display names and detailed descriptions to estimate product items. This enables pricing managers to use clear, nuanced names to identify items in an estimate product, providing a more descriptive alternative to the current generated auto-numbers.

For more information, see Estimate Product Items Overview.

Define Custom Rollup Rules for the Estimate Hierarchy

You can now define custom rollup rules to automatically sum custom number and currency field values from estimate role requests up to any level of the estimate hierarchy. When an estimate is saved or recalculated, active rules consolidate source field values to a target field on a task, line set, estimate product instance, or estimate. If your organization tracks custom metrics across the estimate hierarchy, such as FTE counts or custom hours, you can now do this through configuration. The experience is similar to native Salesforce rollup summary fields. By using custom rollup rules, you can ensure that key financial or resource-based metrics are accurately reflected at every level of your estimate.

For more information, see Custom Rollup Rules Overview.

Enhance Resource Grouping for Estimates

The manage resource grouping process has been updated to create consolidated role requests from your estimate with greater visibility and ease. The Manage Resource Grouping window now shows all custom and mandatory grouping fields as columns, so you can quickly and accurately preview resource requests.

We have also introduced a filter panel to the Manage Resource Grouping window. When you select a grouping criteria in the filter panel, the corresponding column appears in the grid and the resource requests are grouped accordingly.

For more information, see Manage Resource Grouping Overview.
