Skill or Certification Fields

The skill or certification record includes the following fields.

Skill or Certification Fields
Field		Description
Inactive		Indicates that the skill, certification, or category is no longer available for use. You can also update this field in bulk by using the Mark Skill Active and Mark Skill Inactive custom actions in Salesforce Flow Builder. For more information, see Custom Actions.
Category		Level in a hierarchy, such as root, parent, or child level. Skills and certifications can belong to a category.
Certification		Document relating to a status or a level of achievement.
Currency	*	Default currency for this record.
Description		Text description of this skill or certification.
External ID		255 character limit field to identify this skill in an external system.
Group		Picklist of groups. You can customize this picklist by editing the page layout.
Hierarchy Key Path	R	Read only field displaying IDs of ancestors within the skills hierarchy.
Hierarchy Level	R	Indicates the level within the skills hierarchy.
Hierarchy Path	R	Read only field displaying names of ancestors within the skills hierarchy.
Parent Category		Lookup to the parent in the skills hierarchy. Parent must be a record type of category and not a skill or certification. You can customize this lookup by editing the page layout.
Parent Hierarchy Level	R	Indicates the level of the parent within the skills hierarchy.
Record Type	R	Indicates whether this is a category, certification, or skill record.
Record Type Name	M R	Record type name for this skill.
Resource Roles		Resource roles associated with this skill. The Resource Role global picklist value set contains the options available from this picklist field.
Skill		An ability, proficiency, or expertise, in a subject area.
DEPRECATED: Skill or Certification		This field is obsolete. Instead, you can use the Record Type field to indicate whether the record is a category, certification, or skill.
Skill or Certification Name	*	Name of the skill or certification. For example, Java, or Project Management.
Type		Used for grouping purposes on the Skills Capacity page. You must specify a type in this field to ensure the skill or certification record is visible on the Skills Capacity page. You can customize this picklist by editing the page layout. Note: We've deactivated the Skills Matrix Visualforce page and it'll be removed in a future release. We no longer support this page. For more information, see Deprecated Elements.
Unique Name		Unique skill name.

Note:

In the PSA Mobile application, the detail views of My Skills, My Certifications, and My Aspirations tabs display Rating ID, Skill or Certification, Record Type Name, Rating, Aspiration, and default fields of the Additional Fields field set: Evaluation Date and Expiration Date. These fields are also displayed on the Edit panel of the My Skills and My Certifications tabs. To add more fields, contact your administrator.

Buttons

The Manage Skills and Certifications tab of the PSA Mobile application includes the following buttons:

Add	Adds skills and certifications to the resource.
Close	Allows you to go back to the previous page.
Edit	Edits skill and certification rating record on the respective page.
Delete	Deletes the selected skill and certification rating record on the respective page.
