Reschedule Fields

This window displays when you right-click a resource request or assignment in Work Planner, then click Reschedule. It enables you to reschedule a resource request or assignment by applying a different work pattern for a particular date range. The work pattern overrides the working hours defined by the schedule on the resource request or assignment.

When you reschedule an assignment, the window also includes a Notes section where you can record the reason for the change. The Notes section does not display when you reschedule a resource request.

Note:

The following Work Planner Lightning component properties might restrict the edits you can make in the Reschedule window:

  • If Do Not Allow Schedule Date Updates is selected, you cannot extend the date range beyond the record's start and end dates.
  • If Restrict Edit Schedules in Past Date is selected and the whole record is in the past, the Reschedule window does not open. If only the record's start date is in the past, the window opens but the date range starts from today and cannot be edited to a past date.

Summary Card

The summary card at the top of the window displays the impact of your changes on the assignment's overall scheduled hours. The values update as you change the date range, the pattern, or the scheduling strategy.

Summary Card Fields
Field Description
Resource The resource the assignment is for.
Scheduled Hours The total scheduled hours on the assignment before any changes are applied.
Hours After Adjustment The total scheduled hours that will be on the assignment if you click Apply. This value is hidden when Scheduling Strategy is Custom and Repeats Every n Weeks is greater than 1.
Hours Changed The difference between Hours After Adjustment and Scheduled Hours. A positive value indicates that hours are added to the assignment; a negative value indicates that hours are removed. This value is hidden when Scheduling Strategy is Custom and Repeats Every n Weeks is greater than 1.

Date Range

Date Range Fields
Field Description
Start Date The start of the date range that the new pattern applies to.
End Date The end of the date range that the new pattern applies to.

Schedule Pattern

The fields displayed in this section depend on the selected Scheduling Strategy.

Schedule Pattern Fields
Field Description
Scheduling Strategy

The method used to define the pattern. Select one of the following:

  • Custom (default): enter the hours to be worked each day of the week.
  • Percent Allocation: enter a single percentage to scale the resource's working hours across the date range, based on their work calendar.

Switching between strategies preserves any values you have already entered.

Sunday-Saturday Displayed when Scheduling Strategy is Custom. The hours to be worked each day of the week. To set no hours, enter 0. Clearing a field resets it to its previous value.
Repeats Every n Weeks Displayed when Scheduling Strategy is Custom. The frequency at which the pattern repeats within the date range. The default is 1 meaning that the pattern repeats each week. A value greater than 1 applies the pattern at n-week intervals, leaving intervening weeks to use the schedule's default hours. For example, if you enter 4 the pattern from week 1 repeats on week 5, week 9, and so on within the date range.
Weekly Total Displayed when Scheduling Strategy is Custom. The total hours per week resulting from the current pattern.
Percent Allocation Displayed when Scheduling Strategy is Percent Allocation. The percentage of the resource's working hours to allocate to each working day in the date range, based on the resource's work calendar. Enter a value from 0 to 100, with up to two decimal places. Non-working days receive zero hours.

Notes

The Notes section displays only when you reschedule an assignment. When you enter a note, a Daily Note record is created on the assignment when you click Apply. For more information about Daily Notes, see Viewing, Adding and Editing Daily Notes.

Notes Fields
Field Description
Date The date that the note applies to. The date must be within the assignment's date range.
Note The text of the note, up to 255 characters. If you leave this field blank, no Daily Note record is created when you click Apply.
