Services Estimator Administration

Custom Mappings

The Services Estimator Administration page enables you to map fields on an estimate and its related records to fields on the records created from them in PSA. For more information about creating a project from an estimate, see Creating a Project from an Estimate.

Mappings in Services Estimator use the FDN Mappings component. For more information, see Adding Custom Mappings from the FDN Mappings Component.

Notes:
  • Your administrator must assign you the FDN Core - Administrator and FDN Core - Mapping permission sets to be able to edit and create mappings.
  • The following field mappings can't be edited or deleted: Account, Currency ISO Code, End Date, Opportunity, and Start Date. These fields will always map from an estimate to their counterparts on a project.
  • When creating custom mappings, ensure that the mappings you create are between the same field types. For example, Text to Text and Date to Date. If you create a mapping between different field types, users will receive an error when creating a project from an estimate.

You can map fields on an estimate to fields on a project so that the required data is transferred from the estimate to the new project.

The following fields are mapped by default:

To create a custom mapping:

  1. Navigate to the relevant mapping page by doing one of the following:

    • On the Services Estimator Administration page, click Custom Mappings | Estimate to Project Mappings.
    • Navigate to the Estimate to Project Mappings tab.
  2. Click Add Mapping.
  3. In the Source Field Path field, select the field from the source object that you want to map from.
  4. In the Target Field field, select the field from the target object that you want to map to.
  5. Click Save, or Save & New to save and create another new mapping.

You can map fields on an estimate product to fields on an estimate product instance.

The following fields are mapped by default:

To create a custom mapping:

  1. Navigate to the relevant mapping page by doing one of the following:

    • On the Services Estimator Administration page, click Custom Mappings | Estimate Product to EP Instance Mappings.
    • Navigate to the Estimate Product to EP Instance Mappings tab.
  2. Click Add Mapping.
  3. In the Source Field Path field, select the field from the source object that you want to map from.
  4. In the Target Field field, select the field from the target object that you want to map to.
  5. Click Save, or Save & New to save and create another new mapping.

You can map fields on an estimate product instance to fields on an opportunity product.

The following fields are mapped by default:

Note:

The following values are mapped from an Estimate Product Instance to Opportunity Product:

  • True maps to Is Service Product Line
  • 1 maps to Quantity

To create a custom mapping:

    • On the Services Estimator Administration page, click Custom Mappings | Estimate Product Instance to Opportunity Product Mappings.
    • Navigate to the Est Prod Instance to Opp Prod Mappings tab.
  2. Click Add Mapping.
  3. In the Source Field Path field, select the field from the source object that you want to map from.
  4. In the Target Field field, select the field from the target object that you want to map to.
  5. Click Save, or Save & New to save and create another new mapping.

You can map fields on an estimate risk to fields on a project risk so that the required data is transferred from the estimate to the new project.

You can map line sets on an estimate to milestones on a project so that the required data is transferred from the line set on the estimate to the milestone on a new project.

You can map role requests on an estimate to resource requests so that the required data is transferred from the role request on the estimate to the resource request on the opportunity or new project.

Note:

Role request to resource request mappings are also used as default grouping criteria when resource requests are consolidated, both when a role request is added to an opportunity and when a project is created from an estimate. End users can't remove these mapped fields from the selected grouping criteria, so you can use custom mappings to enforce consistent grouping across your org.

Note:

Start Date, End Date, and Hours aren't treated as unique grouping values like the other default mapped fields. During resource request consolidation, Start Date takes the earliest value, End Date takes the latest value, and Hours values add together across the merged role requests. Resource requests with different Start Date, End Date, or Hours values can still merge if all other mapped fields match. Custom mappings of date fields don't have this behavior: they're always treated as unique grouping values.

Before you can map a custom field as a mapping target, the field must exist on the Resource Request object so there's somewhere for the value to go.

To create a custom mapping:

  1. Navigate to the relevant mapping page by doing one of the following:

    • On the Services Estimator Administration page, click Custom Mappings | Role Request to Resource Request Mappings.
    • Navigate to the Role Request to Resource Request Mappings tab.
  2. Click Add Mapping.
  3. In the Source Field Path field, select the field from the source object that you want to map from.
  4. In the Target Field field, select the field from the target object that you want to map to.
  5. Click Save, or Save & New to save and create another new mapping.

You can map vendor line items on an estimate to milestones on a project so that the required data is transferred from the vendor line item on the estimate to the milestone on the new project.

The following fields are mapped by default:

Services Estimator – Salesforce CPQ Connector Mappings

You can map estimate product instances on an estimate to quote lines on a quote so that the required data is transferred from the estimate product instance on the estimate to the quote line on the quote.

The following fields are mapped by default:

  2. Click Add Mapping.
  3. In the Source Field Path field, select the field from the source object that you want to map from.
  4. In the Target Field field, select the field from the target object that you want to map to.
  5. Click Save, or Save & New to save and create another new mapping.

Pricing

The Services Estimator Administration page enables you to manage estimate pricing methods and estimate pricing modifiers.

Mass Actions

The Services Estimator Administrator page enables you to run the Recalculate Estimates action to recalculate data for all estimates that have not been pushed to a project. This feature bulk updates estimates to work with new features. Additionally, you can simultaneously regenerate all existing Estimate Financial Summaries by selecting the Regenerate Financial Summaries checkbox.

Estimate Settings

The Services Estimator Administration page enables you to configure Estimate Builder column visibility and order, and to manage your organization's custom rollup rules.
