Canceling a Service Contract

When you cancel a service contract, this creates a cancellation change request. To cancel a service contract, your administrator must have created an approval process for change requests. See Setting up Approval Processes.

To cancel a service contract. click Cancel Service Contract.

Note:

Once the cancellation change request is approved, it is applied to the service contract automatically depending on the option your administrator has chosen for the Auto Incorporate Approved Cancellation custom field in the Service Contract Settings custom setting. See Auto Incorporate Approved Cancellation.

If your administrator has chosen not to automatically apply approved cancellation change requests to service contracts, you must apply the change request to the service contract once it has been approved.

If there is an open change request, you cannot cancel the contract until you cancel the open change request.
