Business Analytics Upgrade Process

When you upgrade to a new version of the Business Analytics package, the New version available link is displayed in the app's home page instead of the Reconfigure app link. This enables you to upgrade your app to the new version. You can still use your app without upgrading it.

Before starting the upgrade process, we recommend you click Check out what's new to see the list of new features brought by the new version of the Business Analytics app.

Warning: The upgrade process deletes all assets created by the app template from the current app and replaces them with new ones. During this process, all customizations made to these assets are lost. Before upgrading, we recommend that you refer to the Salesforce Help for more information on upgrading Analytics powered apps.

There are two upgrade paths available to you:

• If the following conditions apply, complete the steps in Upgrading the Business Analytics App:
  • Your app contains no customizations
  • You have followed our recommended steps to clone assets, rather than customizing directly as detailed in Customizing Business Analytics Assets.
• If you have made changes to the following assets directly, complete the steps in Upgrading Customized Business Analytics Apps:
  • Dataflows
  • Datasets
  • Lenses
  • Dashboards
