Upgrading Customized Business Analytics Apps

The upgrade process for Business Analytics apps overwrites your current app and replaces it with a new version. This process deletes any customizations you've made such as adding new fields or objects to the dataflow, modifying dashboards, and customizing colors and labels.

Follow these steps to prevent the loss of functionality when upgrading to a new version of Business Analytics if you have directly customized any assets in your app.

  1. On your app's home page, click New version available. This opens the upgrade app page, enabling you to see a list of changes caused by the upgrade.
  2. Click Create a new app to create a new app using the upgraded version template.
  3. Provide your answers to each question of the configuration wizard.
  4. Name your app, then click Create new app.
    Tip: As more than one app with the same name can exist in an org, we recommend you name the new app in a way that can be easily identified.
  5. Manually copy any customizations into the new app.
  6. Delete the old app version when you no longer need it.
