Here is a description of the fields and buttons on the Generate Resource Requests/Generate Held Resource Requests/Generate Assignments from Project Task Assignments page.
Project Information
This section displays information on the project for which PSA will generate task-driven resource requests/held resource requests/assignments.

Generate Based On
This section enables you to select different attributes which map to various fields on the source project tasks and project task assignments, on which to base the task-driven resource requests/held resource requests/assignments.
Your administrator can edit the pta_fieldset_to_split _resource_request setting to modify the fields shown in this section.
Key: D – Dependent field: you can only select together with another attribute.

| External Resource | Indicates whether to generate the resource requests/held resource requests/assignments based on the value of External Resource on the source project task assignments. Select this attribute together with Role. | |
| Resource | Indicates whether or not to generate target resource requests/held resource requests/assignments based on the value of (internal) Resource on the source project task assignments. If the resource also has a role, this will be used to populate the Role field on the target resource requests/held resource requests/assignments. | |
| Milestone | D | Indicates whether or not to generate the target resource requests/held resource requests/assignments based on the value of Milestone on the source project tasks. |
| Longest Gap Allowed (Days) | The duration of the longest gap permitted between consecutive project task assignments before a single resource request/held resource request/assignment is divided into two. Weekends are treated as working days unless you also select Ignore Saturdays or Ignore Sundays. | |
| Ignore Saturdays | When calculating the duration of the gap(s) between consecutive project task assignments, these settings control whether or not weekends are ignored or considered. See also Longest Gap Allowed (Days). |

Edit or Save or Discard Section
This section enables you to review and edit the quantity, suggested field values and proposed financial impact of the resource requests/held resource requests/assignments before saving them to the project. Depending on the options you select, not all fields may be visible.
Key:

W – Read-only or editable field depending on the value of use-task-based-schedule-creation-strategy. See use-task-based-schedule-creation-strategy.

| Hours * Suggested Bill Rate | R | Projected billable amount. This field populates based on the rate card for the auto-generated Resource Role. |

| Notes | R | Shows auto-generated suggested resources for the resource request/held resource request/assignment. This field only has a value if: the source project task assignments do not have a resource and you choose attributes other than Resource on which to generate resource requests/held resource requests/assignments. |
| Requested Bill Rate | W | The auto-generated requested bill rate amount proposed for the resource request/held resource request/assignment. When the requested bill rate is provided, the rate card is not applied on the resource request. |
| Requested Hours | W | The auto-generated number of requested hours proposed for the resource request/held resource request/assignment. |
| Resource Role | W | The auto-generated resource role proposed for the resource request/held resource request/assignment. |
| Resource to Assign | R | The resource to be assigned on generating the task-driven assignment. |

| Go To Generate Assignments | Depending on the page you are on, click to go to the Generate Assignments from Project Task Assignments page. |
| Go To Generate Resource Requests | Depending on the page you are on, click to go to the Generate Resource Requests from Project Task Assignments page. |
| Go To Generate Held Resource Requests | Depending on the page you are on, click to go to the Generate Held Resource Requests from Project Task Assignments page. |
| Preview Resource Requests/ Held Resource Requests/Assignments | Displays one or more resource requests/held resource requests/assignments to generate. The button may be unavailable depending on the status of the page. |
| Reset | Returns the page to its initial state. Discards any generated resource requests/ held resource requests/assignments and selects all attribute checkboxes. You can try again using different attributes. |
| Reset Preview | Resets the page and discards edited attributes back to the preview as previously generated by PSA. |
| Update Preview |
Recalculates the totals rows on the resource request preview table. |
