Assigning Resources from a Resource Request

To assign a resource based on a resource request:

  1. On the Resource Requests tab, click the Resource Request ID that you want to assign resources for.
  2. Scroll to the Assign Resource section and enter applicable resource information.

    When Shield Platform Encryption is enabled in your org, you must be as specific as possible when searching for a resource name to ensure that resources are found. See Shield Platform Encryption for more information.

  3. Click Refresh Matched Resources.
  4. [Optional] Click Clear Search Criteria to reset all selected search criteria values.
  5. [Optional] Click + to view the availability of the resource and edit the schedule. See Resource Details.
  6. Click Assign next to the resource that you want to assign.

Assigning Resources Using the Search Resources Page

If your administrator has made the Search Resources page available, you can use it to assign resources.

To assign a resource from the Search Resources page:

  1. Click one of the following:
    • Search Resources in the PSA Links section of the Home page sidebar.
    • Search Resources tab.
  2. Enter your search criteria and click Search. You can also display search results on a map. See Search Resources Fields.

  3. Click Assign on the resourceClosed A contact that works on a project. that you want to allocate.
  4. Complete the fields on the Create Assignment popup. See Search Resources Fields.
  5. Click Assign.
Note:

If resources have been assigned using the auto-assign feature, this is displayed in the Source field on the assignments list view. This is an optional field that must be added manually. For more information see Creating Resource Requests
