Setting up Billing Document Consolidation
This Feature Console page allows you to enable and configure the consolidation of billing documents.
Work through the steps in the order shown. You must complete some steps manually.
- For each manual step, follow the instructions on screen then click Mark As Done when the step is complete. More information about performing the manual steps is provided below.
- For each automatic step, click Perform. When the step has completed, the Status changes from "Not Done" to "Done".
When you have completed all the steps, use the Status slider in the Feature section to enable the feature.
Manually Adding Fields to Page Layouts
You must manually add fields to the page layouts for Billing Document and Billing Document Line Item:
- From Setup, click Object Manager | Billing Document | Page Layouts.
- Click the layout that you want to modify. From Spring 2021, we recommend that you use the Billing Document Layout - Lightning (Billing Central) page layout.
- Drag the following fields to the required location:
- Consolidated (ffbc__IsConsolidated__c)
- Consolidated Billing Document (ffbc__ConsolidatedBillingDocument__c)
- Consolidation Grouping Method (ffbc__ConsolidationGroupingMethod__c)
- Background Process (ffbc__BackgroundProcess__c)
- Click Save.
- From Setup, click Object Manager | Billing Document Line Item | Page Layouts.
- Click the layout that you want to modify. From Spring 2021, we recommend that you use the Billing Document Line Item Layout - Lightning page layout.
- Drag the Original Billing Document (ffbc__OriginalBillingDocument__c) field to the required location.
- Click Save.
Manually Adding Buttons to the List View
Complete the following steps to add buttons to the Billing Document list view:
- From Setup, click Object Manager | Billing Document | Search Layouts.
- Edit the List View layout.
- From the list of available buttons, add the following:
- Consolidate
- Add to Consolidated Document
- Undo Consolidation
- Click Save.
Manually Adding the Billing Documents Related List to the Background Process Details Page
If you are upgrading from Billing Central Spring 2019, the Billing Documents related list might not be visible on the Background Process details page. In that case, you must manually add it.
Complete the following steps to add the related list to the page layout:
- From Setup, click Object Manager | Background Process | Page Layouts.
- Click Background Process Layout.
- Click Related Lists.
- Drag the Billing Documents related list to the Related Lists section.
- Click Save.
Manually Assigning Permission Sets to Users
Assign one or more of the following permission sets to your users depending on the tasks they need to perform for consolidation.

Billing Central - Consolidation | Assign this to Billing Central administrators who need to manage consolidation grouping methods, consolidation grouping fields, and background processes. |
Billing Central - Consolidation - Delete | Assign this to Billing Central users who need to manage consolidation grouping methods, consolidation grouping fields, and background processes. |
Billing Central - Consolidation - Read Access | Assign this to Billing Central users who need to view existing consolidation grouping methods and consolidation grouping fields, as well as perform consolidation. |
Billing Central - Consolidation - Save | Assign this to Billing Central users who need to create new consolidation grouping methods and consolidation grouping fields, as well as perform consolidation. |

Add the Run Consolidation Lightning Action to the Consolidation Rule Page Layout
For a consistent user interface when using Lightning, remove the Run Consolidation button from the consolidation rule page layout and add the Run Consolidation Lightning action instead.
