Guided Scoping Using Generative AI Overview

Guided scoping using generative enables estimators to efficiently create estimates by automatically generating recommendations for requirements in scoping sessions.

Administrators configure the requirements, which relate to a specific estimate product. Estimators then add the estimate product into their scoping sessions, which displays the defined requirements. At this point, the notes of the requirements are populated with the responses generated using generative AI based on the Generate Scoping Requirement Responses prompt template. For more information about the prompt template, see Generate Scoping Requirement Responses Prompt Template.

For information about how to set up guided scoping using generative AI, see Setting up Guided Scoping Using Generative AI.

The following flow shows how you can use generative AI to generate responses for scoping requirements.

For information about guided scoping not using generative AI, see Guided Scoping Overview.

Considerations

The Generate Scoping Requirement Responses prompt template generates responses only when the following conditions are met:

  • The estimate product is associated with at least one scoping requirement.
  • There are no notes already defined for the requirement responses related to the requirements associated with the estimate product.

The time it takes to add an estimate product into a scoping session depends on the number of requirements that the prompt template must generate responses for.

If an estimate product includes 100 or more questions, the prompt template might not generate complete and accurate responses.
