New Features and Enhancements in PSA Direct for Jira Spring 2024

The following new features have been introduced in the Spring 2024 release of PSA Direct for Jira.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to PSA Direct for Jira Spring 2024. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

Synchronize Jira Issue Comments to PSA

With this release, you can synchronize Jira issue comments with PSA. A new Sync Jira Issue Comments to PSA field is added to the PSA Direct for Jira custom setting and PSA Direct for Jira Settings Lightning page that ensures any comments made on a Jira issue are automatically updated in PSA, providing you with the most recent information at all times.

For more information, see:

Synchronize Jira Issue Attachments to PSA

You can now access and synchronize Jira file attachments with PSA. A new Sync Jira Attachments to PSA field is added to the PSA Direct for Jira custom setting page and PSA Direct for Jira Settings tab, allowing you to manage all your important file attachments in one place. You can easily retrieve documents, images, or any other file attachment from Jira and then synchronize it with PSA.

For more information, see:

Synchronize Jira Array Fields to PSA Fields

Prior to this release, our synchronization was only able to support Array First, which means that only the first value of a Jira field with multiple values can be synced from the array list to the PSA project. However, in this new release, we have implemented a new feature that allows you to map Jira Array fields to PSA fields. This means that Jira fields with multiple values can now be mapped to PSA fields, ensuring that all data is properly synced from Jira to PSA.

It is important to note that PSA does not have an array equivalent, which means that the sync is only one-way from Jira to PSA.

For more information, see Example 3 - For Array Types Custom Field.

Manual Synchronization of Worklogs

The Synchronize Worklogs from Jira quick action is added to the PSA Project Tasks object to allow easy manual synchronization of applicable existing or deleted worklogs from Jira to PSA Project Tasks.

For more information, see:

Manage Events per Batch Size

Prior to this release, the maximum number of events that could be processed in a batch was limited to 20. With this release, we have included an Events Per Batch Size custom setting that provides you the flexibility to adjust the number of events processed in a batch to better suit your individual needs. This means that you can now process more or fewer events in a single batch, depending on the requirements.

For more information, see PSA Direct for Jira Settings.

Configure PSA Direct for Jira Connector in Sandbox Environment

We have added a new Sandbox Configured checkbox to the PSA Direct for Jira Settings Lightning page to help you identify whether the org has sandbox data or production data.

The checkbox is deselected by default. If selected, it indicates that the sandbox environment has been configured correctly. If deselected, it indicates that the sandbox org has not been configured. In this case, the PSA Direct for Jira connector will not synchronize to or from Jira.

This can help to prevent sandbox data from being synchronized to your production environment.

For more information, see

Enhancements to PSA Direct for Jira Settings Page

We updated the PSA Direct for Jira Settings tab user interface to align with Certinia User Design standards. This makes it more intuitive for users. Additionally, we updated the field and header labels.

For more information, see:

Enhancements to PSA Direct for Jira Queue Status

A new Event Type field has been added to the PSA Direct for Jira Queue Status tab. This field displays the Jira Webhook event types when Jira Issue and Jira Worklog are created, updated, or deleted. For more information, see PSA Direct for Jira Queue Status Fields.
