Creating a Scoping Requirement
Scoping requirements are individual records that make up a requirement set. They're used in scoping sessions to enable estimators to respond to requirements efficiently with pre-defined responses. The requirement response is used to determine the key characteristics of an estimate.
To create a requirement:
- Do one of the following:
- On the Scoping Requirements tab, click New.
- On a requirement set record, on the Scoping Requirements related list, click New.
- Check or update the requirement set that you want to requirement to belong to.
- Enter the body of the requirement. This information is shown during a scoping session to prompt a response.
- [Optional] Enter a number to determine the order that the requirement is displayed in the requirement set in a scoping session. This number also dictates the order in which the related action is run for the requirement set. For example, 1 indicates that the requirement is shown first and its related action is run first.
- [Optional] Enter the name of the section that you want the requirement to be displayed in within a scoping session. The sections are displayed in alphanumeric ascending order. Any requirements that are not assigned to a section are displayed at the bottom in a drop-down labeled "Uncategorized".
- Click Save to save the requirement or Save & New to save the requirement and create a new one.
You are now ready to add requirement responses to the requirement. For more information, see Creating a Scoping Requirement Response.
