Previewing Forecasts

You can preview revenue and cost forecasts from the PSA Administration page. The preview grid enables you to determine what would be included in a forecast for a selected project if you were to run it now. It shows the following details:

  • The recognition method and currency.
  • For revenue forecasts, a list of the records that would be included so that you can identify the sources of revenue.
  • For cost forecasts, a list of the records that would be included so that you can identify the sources of costs. If you are not using Cost Forecasting, only records relating to revenue forecasts are displayed.

The Costs or Revenue column in the grid indicates whether a row relates to costs, revenue, or both.

Notes:

To preview forecast data, you must have been assigned the PSA - Run Revenue Forecast permission set by an administrator.

If you have Revenue Management installed, the preview shows whether the integration between the Revenue Forecasting feature in PSA and Revenue Management is enabled. For more information, see Integration with Revenue Management.

To preview the forecast data for a project:

  1. Select PSA Administration from the App Launcher.
  2. In the Services Forecasting section, click Preview Forecast.
  3. Search for and select the project whose forecast data you want to preview.
  4. [Optional] Click a record name in the grid to view the record.
  5. [Optional] Click Reload to reload the data displayed and view the latest changes. This is useful if records were added or changed after you loaded the page, or if you have made a change on a different tab in your org.
