Services Deliverables Overview
Services deliverables enable you to better structure project work. A deliverable represents a template of a defined outcome or service offered to your customers. The deliverable provides a way of grouping the milestones and related records necessary to complete the work involved in delivering the service, so that all records can be added to a project in one go.
A deliverable is defined by one or more deliverable items. Each of the items represents a defined piece of work that contributes to a deliverable. Each deliverable item is associated with a template milestone, providing the grouping of the milestones necessary to complete the work involved in delivering the service. Deliverables can then be added to the project, which provides an easy and quick way to add all the milestones associated with the deliverable items and the related records associated with those milestones.
Pricing Options for Services Deliverables
Services deliverables can be priced in services credits, the project currency, or both. The pricing option you define determines the deliverable's availability when adding it to a project:
- Services Credits Pricing: Indicates the deliverable is priced in services credits. Choosing this option ensures the deliverable is available for selection when adding deliverables with services credits pricing to projects.
- Monetary Pricing: Indicates the deliverable is priced in the project currency. Choosing this option ensures the deliverable is available for selection when adding deliverables with monetary pricing to projects.
You can select both options for deliverables that can be purchased using either method. This ensures the deliverable is available for selection when adding deliverables to projects regardless of whether you choose to add deliverables with services credits pricing or with monetary pricing. For more information, see Adding Services Deliverables to Projects and Services Deliverable Fields.
The availability of these pricing options can be determined by your org's configuration. If a pricing option is disabled, you can only add deliverables of the supported type to projects. For more information about the settings to disable a specific pricing option, see Services Deliverables Settings.
