Services Forecasting Datasets

Analytics datasets are the cornerstones of Services Forecasting. The Services Forecast Live dataset contains the revenue and cost information generated from your operational records and is used to create forecasts. The Services Forecast Plans dataset contains your adjusted forecasts. Finally, the Services Forecast Reporting dataset combines information from the Live and Plans datasets to provide visually rich dashboards.

Services Forecast Live

The Services Forecast Live dataset includes information about revenue, costs, and margin for your operational records. It is used as a basis for creating services forecast.

You can create a scheduled job to update the dataset at regular intervals or update it on demand from:

  • The PSA Administration page
  • A services forecast setup record

The Services Forecast Live dataset is created automatically in Analytics the first time a scheduled job to update the dataset is triggered, or the first time you update the dataset on demand by clicking Run Now.

Services Forecast Plans

The Services Forecast Plans dataset includes information about your adjusted services forecast.

The dataset is created from the PSA Administration page or a services forecast setup record. For more information, see Creating the Services Forecast Plans Dataset.

The dataset is empty when it is first created. The fields are later populated using a scheduled process that sends forecast data to Analytics. The Services Forecast Plans dataset includes several fields related to the forecast itself. It also includes fields that match the Services Forecast Live dataset fields. Services Forecast Reporting

The Services Forecast Reporting dataset combines data from the Services Forecast Live and Services Forecast Plans datasets. It is automatically created as part of your PS Cloud Core Analytics app in the PS Cloud Core Analytics App Initialize Services Forecast Reporting recipe. The PS Cloud Core Analytics App Services Forecast Reporting and PS Cloud Core Analytics App Snapshot Services Forecast Plans recipes are used to maintain and keep it up to date.
