Gantt Preferences

Gantt preferences enable you to control the related behavior of project tasks and the related project:

  • Project preferences only apply to the project you set them on.
  • User preferences apply to all projects that you work on and are restored each time you open Gantt on the same device, using the same browser.

To open the Preferences dialog, click Preferences button.

Project Preferences

The following preferences are available:

  • Adjust Tasks When This Project's Start Date Changes

This is selected by default. When applied, if the project's start date changes, all task dates are automatically moved to reflect the change. This preference relates only to the current project and only affects you. It is restored each time you open Gantt on the same device, using the same browser.

  • Adjust This Project's End Date

This is deselected by default. If selected and applied, the project's end date changes automatically to match the end date of the project task with the latest end date. You cannot edit the project end date from the task grid or the Gantt chart. This preference relates only to the current project and is stored on the project record.

Tip: We recommend that you select this option if you are using the Critical Path function. For more information about the critical path, see Using Critical Path in Gantt.
