Managing Recognition Views

Recognition views are only relevant when working in the Recognize Revenue and Forecast Revenue pages.

When first installed, all users have full access to all recognition views. Everyone can view, edit and delete any recognition view.

In most organizations you will want to set up sharing rules on the Recognition View object (Setup | Security | Sharing Settings) in Salesforce.

For example, you might want to restrict access to 'working copy' recognition views to the record's Owner only. There is a checkbox on the Recognition View object to indicate that this record is a working copy. You may decide to only allow sharing for recognition views where the Working Copy checkbox is clear for example.

How you set these sharing rules is up to you.

For more details on how to create sharing rules, see the Salesforce Help.

The Type picklist on the Recognition View object is only populated for 'working copy' recognition views. It indicates whether the recognition view was created when you were working in the Forecast Revenue page (Type=Forecast) or the Recognize Revenue page (Type=Actual).

Note:

If the Working Copy checkbox and Type picklist are not shown on the recognition view, you can add them to the page layout. See the Salesforce Help for more information about adding fields on to page layouts.
