Adding Lookups on Your Source Objects to the Recognition Template Object

On each of your source objects, you must add a lookup relationship custom field to the Recognition Template object. You must add this lookup to all source objects in the hierarchy, even if you do not intend to attach recognition templates to all levels.

For example, the hierarchy of your source objects might be:

  • Project: Primary
  • Milestone: Level 2

If you want to recognize revenue or cost on milestones (Level 2), you must create a lookup relationship custom field to the Recognition Template object on both your project object and your milestone object.

Note:

All Revenue Management users must have read access to all your source objects.

To add a lookup relationship custom field on your source object to the Recognition Template object:

  1. Make sure you are signed in as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Setup | Object Manager then select the custom object that you plan to use as your source object.
  3. Click New in the Fields & Relationships section.
  4. Choose a field type of Lookup Relationship, then click Next.
  5. Select the Recognition Template object, then click Next.
  6. Change the Field Label to Rev Rec Template.
  7. In Field Name, enter ffrrtemplate to use the default API name for this field. If you want to use a different API name, you must edit the Actuals Template field in the Revenue Management Settings custom setting to match.
  8. Click Next to continue.
  9. Specify the access settings of the field for each profile.
  10. Choose the appropriate page layouts to show the field as an editable field.
  11. Click Save.

Repeat these steps for each of your source objects.
