Custom Permissions in Revenue Management

Revenue Management provides the custom permissions described below. For more information about custom permissions, see the Salesforce Help.

Permission to Generate Recognition Schedules for All Source Records

Revenue Management provides a custom permission to bulk generate recognition schedules for all source records regardless of your record permissions. The Run Recognition Schedule Bulk Generate Process on All Source Records custom permission is enabled by default in the following permission sets:

  • RevMan Admin
  • RevMan Admin SF License
  • RevMan Project Manager
  • RevMan Project Manager SF License
  • RevMan Consultant SF License

If you have cloned these permission sets, enable the Run Recognition Schedule Bulk Generate Process on All Source Records custom permission in the cloned versions to allow users with those permission sets to generate recognition schedules for all source records.

You can allow other users to generate recognition schedules for all source records by assigning the custom permission to their profiles or permission sets. We recommend you grant the permission to a limited number of users only.

Permission to Recognize Revenue and Cost against Recognition Schedules

If you intend recognizing revenue and cost against recognition schedules you must be assigned the Run Recognition Schedule Recognize Process custom permission. This custom permission allows you to recognize revenue and cost against the recognition schedule lines you have access to. It is enabled by default in the following permission sets:

  • RevMan Project Manager
  • RevMan Project Manager SF License
  • RevMan Consultant SF License

If you have cloned these permission sets, enable the Run Recognition Schedule Recognize Process custom permission in the cloned versions to allow users with those permission sets to recognize revenue and cost against their recognition schedules.

You can allow other users to recognize revenue and cost against their recognition schedules by assigning the custom permission to their profiles or permission sets. We recommend you grant the permission to a limited number of users only.

Permission to Discard Committed Recognition Transactions

Revenue Management provides a custom permission for discarding committed recognition transactions. The Discard Recognition Transactions custom permission is enabled by default in the following permission sets:

  • RevMan Admin
  • RevMan Admin SF License
  • RevMan Consultant SF License

If you have cloned these permission sets, enable the Discard Recognition Transactions custom permission in the cloned versions to allow users with those permission sets to discard committed transactions.

You can allow other users to discard committed recognition transactions by assigning the custom permission to their profiles or permission sets. We recommend you grant the permission to a limited number of users only.

Warning:

When a recognition transaction is linked to an Accounting journal, you can only discard the recognition transaction if the Accounting journal has been discarded, canceled, or reversed.
