Defining Allocation Basis Criteria

This topic relates to creating allocation basis criteria in Lightning. To create in Sencha, see Managing an Allocation Basis.

Once you have created the allocation basis, the details are displayed in the Details tab. The next step is to define the criteria in the Criteria tab.

Statistical Basis

In the Criteria tab:

  1. In the Company field, specify the Accounting company name.
  2. In the General Ledger Account field, specify the GLA. It displays GLAs from the corporate chart of accounts.
  3. Specify dimensions in Dimension 1-4 columns, as required. If you select Include Disabled Dimensions while creating the allocation basis, the disabled dimensions are also shown in the drop-down list to select.
  4. Enter the value in the Value column according to the unit of measure selected. For example, if you select People as unit of measure, the value entered denotes the number of people. It is a mandatory field.
  5. Click Save to save the line.
Notes:
  • You must enter a value in at least one of the dimension fields or the General Ledger Account field.
  • The sum of the values in the Value column for all the lines is displayed in the Total field.
  • If the allocation basis is used in allocation templates or rules, it cannot be deleted.
  • If you select or deselect Include Disabled Dimensions in the Details tab, after saving, refresh the page to see the updated behavior of the Dimension fields.
  • Last unsaved changes are recorded and retained when using the same browser on the same computer.

Adding Lines

To add lines:

  1. Click in the grid toolbar.
  2. Enter the values in the fields as above, and click Save.

Cloning Lines

To clone the existing line:

  1. Select the line that you want to clone.
  2. Click in the grid toolbar and click Save.

Deleting Lines

To delete the existing line:

  1. Select the line that you want to delete.
  2. Click . In the confirmation message window click Delete.
  3. Click Save. The selected line is deleted.
