What is a Selection Definition?
A selection definition stores predefined source objects/fields and optional filter conditions for use in the desktop apps and when sending email messages such as remittances and reminder letters to a group of accounts. Once defined, you can save the selection definition and use it whenever you need the same selection criteria. In the desktop apps, they are called "selections".
Selection definitions used to send mass email must use the appropriate master object for the type of message.

* In this context, when the master object is set to "Payment Media Summary", detail-level filter conditions are ignored.

The Selection Definitions tab displays a home page that lets you quickly create and locate your
selection definitions. You can also sort and filter your selection definitions using standard and custom list views. In addition, this tab lets you view and edit detailed information on each
selection definition.
The Selection Definition object is a company-owned object.
