Inserting a Row in the Plan Table in Grid View

Note:

This only applies if your plan is configured to display the plan table in grid view. If your plan is configured to display the table in tree view, see Inserting a Row in the Plan Table in Tree View.

To insert a row in the plan table in grid view:

  1. Open the plan scenario in which you want to insert the row.
  2. Depending on where you want to insert the row, do one of the following:

    • To insert the new row at the bottom of the table, in the plan table toolbar, click Show menu.
    • To insert the new row below an existing row, right-click a dimension value in the existing row.
    • To insert the new row below an existing row, click next to the existing row.
  3. Click Insert Row. The Insert Row window displays. The window contains a field for each of the row-level dimensions defined for the plan. If the plan is configured to display measures as rows, the Measure field is also displayed.
  4. Specify a dimension value for the first dimension. Under the name of the dimension, do one of the following:

    • If the dimension value already exists in the plan, search for and select the dimension value.
    • If the dimension value does not exist in the plan, do the following:

      1. Enter the dimension value.
      2. Select the new value from the drop-down list.
  5. Repeat the previous step to specify values for the remaining dimensions.
  6. If the plan is configured to display measures as rows, search for and select a measure.
  7. Click Insert. The new row is inserted in the table.
Warning:

You must populate at least one cell in the new row before saving the plan table. When you save the table, any rows that only contain empty cells are automatically removed.
