Setting an Estimate as Primary

To add the records of an estimate to opportunity or create a project from an estimate, you must set the estimate as primary. If an estimate is set as primary, setting a different estimate as primary will override the primary estimate associated with the opportunity.

Setting a different estimate as primary or unsetting an estimate as primary will remove any related records that have been added to opportunity. If there are one or more projects related to the estimate, to unset an estimate as primary or set a different estimate as primary, you must first delete the projects associated with the current primary estimate.

To set an estimate as primary, click the Set as Primary button on the estimate. If the estimate is set as primary, the Primary checkbox in the Details tab will be selected.

To unset an estimate as primary, use the Unset as Primary button on the estimate or set a different estimate as the primary estimate for the associated opportunity.

Notes:
  • Estimate templates cannot be set as primary.
  • You can't set an estimate as primary if the existing primary estimate is locked because another action is processing it, or if the Locked field on the estimate record is selected. For more information, see Services CPQ Process Lock Fields and Configuring an Estimate.
