Creating Business Challenges

You can create a business challenge and associate it with:

  • A new success plan. You can do this when creating a new success plan from either the Actions panel or Success Tracker.

  • An existing success plan. You can do this:

    • Using the Create Business Challenge action in the Actions panel, which is available on the Customer Success Management Workspace. The Actions panel might also be available on the record pages that your administrator added it to. If you want to use the Actions panel on a specific record page, contact your administrator.
    • On the success plan's record page, in the Business Challenges related list in the Related tab
    • In the Business Challenges tab
    • In Success Tracker

Creating Business Challenges when Creating a Success Plan

You can create business challenges and automatically associate them with either:

  • Blank success plans
  • Success plans created from templates

To do this, create a success plan from either the Actions panel or Success Tracker. For more information, see Creating Success Plans.

Creating Business Challenges for an Existing Success Plan

You can create a business challenge for an existing success plan in the following ways:

To create a business challenge from the Actions panel:

  1. Click Create Business Challenge in the Actions panel on the Customer Success Management Workspace.

  2. Enter a title for the business challenge.

  3. [Optional] Complete the following fields:

    1. Select a category for the business challenge.
    2. Select an opportunity for the business challenge.
    3. Select a success plan for the business challenge.
    4. Search for and select one or more objectives for the business challenge.
  4. Enter notes for the business challenge.
  5. Click Create.

To add a business challenge to an existing success plan:

  1. Click New in either:
    • The Business Challenges related list in the Related tab of a success plan record page
    • The Business Challenges tab

  2. Enter a title for the business challenge.

  3. [Optional] Select an opportunity for the business challenge, or click New Opportunity to create an opportunity for the record. You can view opportunities related to the searched keyword. Enter at least two characters in the Opportunity field and click Show All Results for “ ” to open the Opportunity window. Then, select the opportunity that you want from the grid to add it to the Opportunity field. For more information, see Using Advanced Lookup.
  4. [Optional] Select a success plan for the business challenge. This field is automatically populated if you are creating a business challenge from a success plan record page.
  5. [Optional] Select a category for the business challenge.

  6. Enter notes for the business challenge.

  7. Click Save to save the business challenge or Save & New to save the business challenge and create a new one.

If a success plan is associated with an account, you can create a business challenge and associate it with the success plan in the Success Tracker tab of the account's record page. If you cannot view this tab, contact your administrator. If a success plan is not associated with an account, you must create business challenges from either the success plan's record page or the Business Challenges tab.

To create a business challenge for an existing success plan:

  1. In the App Launcher, navigate to the Accounts tab.
  2. Click the account of the success plan that you want to create the business challenge for. The account's record page displays.
  3. Click the Success Tracker tab.
  4. In the Success Tracker grid, select the checkbox next to the success plan that you want to create the business challenge for.
  5. Click Edit in the toolbar. The Edit Success Plan window displays.
  6. Click Add Business Challenge in the Business Challenges section.

  7. Enter a title for the business challenge.

  8. [Optional] Select a category for the business challenge.

  9. Enter notes for the business challenge.

  10. Click Save.
