Allocating Resources

You can allocate single resources to success plans, objectives, and playbooks, and multiple resources to accounts. If a resource is already allocated to a success plan, objective, or playbook, you can replace that resource, but the newly allocated resource will also automatically become the owner of the record they are allocated to.

Note:

You must have Create permissions for the Account Customer Success Resource object to allocate resources. Contact your administrator.

When you allocate a resource to a record, the following are updated:

  • The Allocated Resources table of the record's resourcing tab
  • The Success Plan Owner, Objective Owner, or Playbook Owner field when allocating the resource to a success plan, objective, or playbook

The resource receives a notification whenever they are allocated to an account, objective, playbook, or success plan. Also, an account customer success resource record is created when allocating resources to an account, which can be viewed in the Account Customer Success Resource related list on the account's record page.

Note:

A single resource cannot be allocated to:

  • More than 999 Playbooks
  • More than 999 Success Plans
  • More than 89 skills

To allocate resources to records:

  1. On the resourcing tab of the record, click Allocate.
  2. The Available Resources table displays resources ranked based on the active playbooks, active success plans, and role. In this resource allocation ranking calculation, success plans with completed or archived status and playbooks with completed or canceled stages are not considered.
  3. Select the resources you want to allocate to the record or search for a resource using two or more characters that appear anywhere in the resource's name. To allocate all available resources to an account, select the checkbox in the heading line.
  4. Click Allocate. The allocated resources display in the Allocated Resources table.
