Objective Fields

The Objective object includes the following fields.

Objective Fields
Field   Description
Account   The account associated with the objective.
Category   The category that the objective is grouped by.
DEPRECATED: Account   This field is obsolete. To associate the objective with an account, use the Parent Account field.
End Date  

The date the objective ends.

Note:

If this field is not included on your page layout, the end date on new records created from templates is left blank.

Estimated Hours   The estimated hours for the objective. This amount does not include rolled up hours from other associated records.
Objective Owner   The owner of the objective.
Objective Type   The type of the record to indicate if it is an internal or external objective.
Opportunity   The opportunity associated with the objective.
Owner is Current User   If selected, the owner of the objective is the current Salesforce user.
Priority   The priority of the objective.
Record Type R

The type of the objective record. The user can select a record type when creating a new objective record from the Actions panel. If only one record type has been created for this object, that record type is selected by default.

Note:

This field displays only if your administrator has created one or more record types for this object and added this field to the necessary page layouts. For more information, see Setting up Customer Success Cloud.

Start Date  

The date the objective starts.

Note:

If this field is not included on your page layout, the start date on new records created from templates defaults to today's date.

Status  

The status of the objective.

Note:

If the objective's status is set to Blocked, the Blocked field of its associated objective KPIs is automatically selected. The objective KPI Blocked field can also be automatically selected based on additional objective statuses if the administrator specified them using the Objective Blocked Statuses field in the CS Cloud Settings custom setting.

Success Criteria   A summary of the success criteria for the objective. For more information about the formatting options available in the rich text editor, see the Salesforce Help.
Success Plan   The success plan associated with the objective. To view and select template success plans, the Template field must be included in the object's page layouts.

Template  

If selected, the objective is a template. An objective template can include the following child records:

  • Objective KPIs
  • Playbooks
  • Playbook tasks

Selecting or deselecting this field clears the selected success plan. When this field is selected, you can only associate an objective with a success plan record that has its respective Template field selected. The Template field is selected by default when creating a record from the Actions panel on the record page of a template success plan, objective, or playbook, or from Success Tracker.

Note:

If the Template field is not included on your page layout, the parent object fields are not populated when creating an objective in the Create Objective window from the record page of a template success plan, objective, or playbook. However, the parent object fields are still populated when creating an objective from the record page of a non-template success plan, objective, or playbook.
