Setting up Additional Objects in History Tracker

You can add additional objects to the CSC History Tracker Lightning component in Customer Success Cloud. This enables users to view changes related to additional objects with history tracking.

By default, History Tracker displays records of the following objects:

  • Account
  • Objective
  • Opportunity
  • Playbook
  • Playbook Task
  • Success Plan

However, you can add additional objects to display in the change history, in addition to the default objects. Users can then view the records of the additional objects in History Tracker and also select and deselect them in the Objects with History Tracking field in the History Tracking section in the Filters panel.

Note:

If you set up additional objects for history tracking in Activity Tracker in January 2025 or earlier, you must set up those objects in History Tracker. From Spring 2025, history tracking is only available in History Tracker.

Prerequisites

Before you add an additional object to History Tracker, you must do the following:

  1. Enable field history tracking for the object that you want to add.
  2. Select the fields that you want to track for the object.

Note:

You can add an object only if:

  • It has a single direct account lookup
  • It has field history tracking enabled
  • It is not a detail object that has a master-detail relationship

Adding Additional Objects

To add additional objects to History Tracker:

  1. From Setup | Lightning App Builder, select the page or workspace where History Tracker is enabled.
  2. Click the History Tracker grid.
  3. In the properties pane, enter the API names of the additional objects in the Additional Objects for History Tracking field. You can enter multiple values separated by commas. The values are case-sensitive. For example: fferpcore__BillingDocument__c, pse__Proj__c.
  4. Save your changes and activate the page if required.
  5. [Optional] Set your changes as the org wide default and click Close.
