New Features and Enhancements in WorkGrid September 2025

The following new features have been introduced in the September 2025 release of WorkGrid.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to WorkGrid September 2025. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

Configure Dataset Filters and Dimension Mappings When Updating from Analytics

When updating a plan scenario from Analytics, you can now view and configure the dataset filters and dimension value mappings that were defined when the plan was first created. This provides you with significantly more flexibility when updating from Analytics. Depending on the filters and the mappings you define, you can update any subset of rows, columns, and cells or bring in new cells into the scenario. Consequently, we have removed the Update from Analytics button from the right-click context menus.

If you change the default dataset filters and dimension value mappings while updating from Analytics, you can choose to save the changes as the new defaults for the scenario.

In addition, you can now decide whether to overwrite calculations with numeric values from the dataset. This ensures that you don't unintentionally lose the formulas you have built.

For more information, see Updating a Plan with the Latest Data from Analytics.

Customize the Order of Dimension Values

When creating a data source, you can now define a custom order for dimension values. When you create a plan using the data source, if the dimension is used as a column in the plan, the columns are added in your custom order, instead of in ascending order.

This can be useful in the following cases:

  • When the dimension values don't start with a number, for example, Jan-26, Feb-26, Mar-26, and so on.
  • When the dimension values contain a number that doesn't have a leading zero, for example, 2026/1, 2026/2, 2026/3, and so on until 2026/10, 2026/11, and 2026/12.
  • When the alphabetical order of the dimension values is not the logical order, for example, Revenue, Cost, and Margin.

You can also customize the order when editing the dimension mappings for a data source and when creating the dimension mapping using Datastream.

For more information, see Creating a Data Source, Editing the Dimension Mappings of a Data Source, and Dimension Mapping Fields.

Drilling on Plan Dimensions

You can now drill on a plan dimension to see more detail about its data. This provides an easy way to access its data without navigating away from WorkGrid. For more information, see Drilling on Plan Dimensions.

Edit Relationships Visualization Settings

You can now edit the relationships visualization settings on the Relationships tab, allowing you to edit the title of the visual hierarchy, change the display direction of the arrows, and add fields to the Relationships cards. For more information, see Editing Relationships Visualization Settings.

Experience Better Usability with Streamlined Pages and When Importing from XLSX Files

We have improved the page layouts and Lightning record pages for the Dimension, Measure, and Planning Unit objects to provide you with a streamlined and consistent experience. We have also improved field labels for those objects, as well as several related objects, namely, the Dimension Mapping, Measure Mapping, and Measure Planning Unit objects.

We have also improved the window for importing data from an XLSX file into plans and rate tables. The UI changes make the results of the import process clearer. For more information, see Importing and Exporting Plans and Importing and Exporting Rate Tables.

Drill on Plan Dimension Values

You can now drill on a plan dimension value to see more detail about its data. This provides an easy way to access its data without navigating away from WorkGrid. Additionally, all records IDs are automatically cloned when cloning a plan. For more information, see Drilling on Plan Dimension Values.
