Maintaining Services Forecasting

As part of your month-end process, you must ensure that the relevant monthly time period is closed for Services Forecasting when appropriate. In addition, you might want to update the dataset filters for your practice or region forecasts to exclude past months and include additional future months. If you use access rules, you might also want to update the relevant access rule. For example, if you use an access rule to prevent project managers from making adjustments to actuals values in closed time periods. For more information, see:

Several background processes run periodically to ensure near-real-time forecasting. For more information, see Services Forecasting Scheduled Processes.

In some cases, you might not want to wait for a scheduled process to run. If that happens, you can run each stage of the flow manually. For more information, see:

In some cases, you might want to remove existing forecast data from the Services Forecast Plans dataset. This might be useful if the project the forecast no longer exists or it is no longer relevant. For more information, see Deleting Forecasts from the Services Forecast Plans Dataset.
