New Features and Enhancements in Services Forecasting May 2026

The following new features have been introduced in the May 2026 release of Services Forecasting.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Services Forecasting May 2026. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

Configure User Access to Forecast Features

You can now create feature access rules to control which actions specific users can perform within a forecast. Each feature access rule grants or restricts access to individual features, such as editing or adjusting cells, creating scenarios, sending plans to Analytics, editing relationships, or using the Formula Builder. This complements the existing cell access rules, which restrict editing of specific forecast cells.

When multiple feature access rules apply to a user, the least restrictive rule is used. This means that, if any of the rules grants access to a feature, the user can use that feature.

As part of the Services Forecasting setup process, two default feature access rules are created: Project Manager Feature Permissions and Services Leader Feature Permissions. You can apply these access rules to the relevant users or use them as a starting point to customize them according to your requirements.

For more information, see:

We have also introduced the WorkGrid - Contribute to Plans permission set that is optimized for Services Forecasting users.

Customize Your Plan View to Surface Key Financial Insights

We've introduced summary cards to provide immediate and clear visibility into key performance indicators or KPIs. You can now configure these data visualization tools when you create a plan template or when you create a plan from a data source. Your KPI summary cards are designed to distill complex operational metrics into real-time snapshots.

In addition, we've fine tuned the Services Forecasting Feature Console feature to automatically update the project forecast templates in your org, so that they already contain pre-configured KPI summary cards. These cards are strategically selected to display critical metrics relevant to each respective forecast, providing immediate insight into performance without requiring manual configuration. For more information, see Setting up Services Forecasting Using the Feature Console.

Finally, we've added the new Services Forecasting May 2026 Upgrade Feature Console feature to update your existing project forecast templates to contain the aforementioned pre-configured KPI summary cards as well. For more information, see Enabling Services Forecasting May 2026 Upgrade.

Embed Plans in the Multiple Plan Creation Process

You can now embed plans from the multiple plan creation process. This eliminates having to embed each plan individually. For more information, Creating Multiple Plans from a Plan Template.

Generate Group Forecasts

You can now generate services forecasts for groups using the predefined Group Forecast template. The new template has a similar structure to the existing region and practice templates. Forecasts created using the Group Forecast template enable services leaders to view the revenue and cost for the group. The values are broken down by time period and the projects and opportunities that belong to the group. For projects, the values are rolled up from project forecasts that belong to the group.

For more information, see Group Forecast Template and Region, Practice, and Group Forecasts.

Mention Collaborators in Cell Comments

You can now mention your coworkers in forecast cell comments so that they clearly know what requires their attention. Depending on how you configure the org, mentioned users can receive an email and a Salesforce notification with a direct link to the comment. Users who previously commented on the thread are also notified about any replies.

You can also use the new Mentioned In filter within a specific scenario to quickly find the threads you have been mentioned in.

For more information, see Cell Comments in Forecasts.

Relationship Child Row Repositioning

You can now change the placement of your child plans within the parent plan during single and multiple plan creation. This enables you to save time by customizing the organization of your plan's relationships during plan creation. For more information, see Creating a Blank Plan, Creating a Plan from a Plan Template, Creating a Plan from a Data Source, and Creating Multiple Plans from a Plan Template.

Reset Forecast Send Status Automatically After Dataset Deletion Process

To maintain accurate forecasting data, the system now resets a forecast's status to "not sent" when you delete it from the Services Forecast Plans dataset. Automatically removing the last send date ensures all cell data transfers during your next Send to Analytics run.
