Scoping Action Sets Overview
A scoping action set is a named group of Guided Scoping actions that you define on a Scoping Requirement Set. Unlike an action attached to an individual response, an action set isn't tied to any single answer. Action sets let you apply a group of changes to the estimate product created from a scoping session without attaching the same actions to every relevant response.
You can add multiple actions to a set using the same action types and conditions available for response actions with the exception of Modify Scoping Variable Value and Set Input as Value. These two action types aren't available within an action set. Modify Scoping Variable Value is excluded to prevent one variable's value from influencing another. An action set with no actions is saved, but it's ignored when the scoping session runs.
You can reorder the actions within a set in the same way you reorder actions on a response.
When Action Set Actions Run
An action set's actions always run at the end of a scoping session, after any actions configured on individual responses have run. They will run in the order the action set records were created, and only affect records that match any conditions you've added.
You create and manage action sets from the Scoping Requirement Set record. For more information, see Configuring Scoping Action Sets.
Cloning Action Sets
When you clone a Scoping Requirement Set to the same estimate product, its action sets and their actions are cloned with it. If you clone to a different estimate product, action sets aren't cloned.
Scoping Action Set Conditions
You can configure when action sets run by using scoping action set conditions based on the value of the selected scoping variable. When an action set condition is added, you must select a scoping variable, operator, and a numerical value. For example, if a scoping variable measures complexity, you can create an action set condition that applies a 5% discount if the scoping variable value scores less than 5.
For more information, see Configuring Scoping Action Sets.
