Use a payment details template to enter information.
Enter all the payment and posting information manually.
Payment details templates can contain bank account, currency, payment media and posting information. If you are regularly creating proposals using the same details, you can create a template containing all these details. You can also set a default template. For more information see What is a Payment Details Template and Creating Payment Details Templates.
Prerequisites
Make sure your current company is the appropriate company for this payment run.
Entering new payment details
To enter new payment details:
Click the Payments Plus tab. If a default payment details template is set for the current company, it is loaded automatically.
[Optional] From the Payment Details Template picklist select a template if no default is loaded, or you do not want to accept the default. You can overwrite the details loaded from the template.
In the Payment Information section, specify a payment date. Notice how as you enter information the selected values appear in the payment proposal side panel on the right. See The Payment Proposal Side Panel.
Enter a valid period to post the cash entries and any discount and currency write-off journals to, or accept the default derived from the payment date if one is provided.
Either accept the default discount date, or amend it. This is the date to use when calculating any discounts that you're entitled to. You can amend this date at any time up until you first add transactions to the proposal.
If you are creating a proposal manually, want to overwrite any of the payment details fields, or your template does not contain information for all fields, you can now:
Specify the payment media. The only valid option in this release is "Check".
In the Posting Information section, select a settlement discount general ledger account (GLA). Any discounts that you deduct from this payment will be posted to this GLA.
If you want to apply analysis dimensions to this GLA, click Show Dimensions and specify the relevant dimensions.
If your org is set up for multiple currencies, select a currency write-off GLA. Any currency write-off created by the matching process will be posted to this GLA.
If you want to apply analysis dimensions to this GLA, click Show Dimensions and specify the relevant dimensions.
The first time you click Next, a new payment proposal is created. The new proposal header record is given a status of "New" and is allocated a unique proposal number. These are displayed in the proposal side panel.
