Scheduling Message Deletion

The Message Deletion job supplied with Foundations enables you to define when to delete Foundations messages that have exceeded their minimum retention time. You can schedule the Message Deletion job to delete messages automatically and you can also run the job manually, if required. This job also deletes any messages that are not linked to a message type.

To manage the Message Deletion job:

  1. Click the Foundations Setup tab in the Foundations Administration app.
  2. Click the Scheduled Jobs subtab.
  3. In the Message Deletion row, do one of the following:
    • To view a summary of the schedule, click the information icon Information icon. To close the popup, click . The scheduled job only runs if the Scheduled checkbox is selected.
    • To delete the messages now, click Run now icon. When the job is complete, the status displays the  icon.
    • To set the time interval on which to deliver the messages, click Edit icon and specify the schedule. For more information, see Configuring a Scheduled Job.
