Creating a Messaging Relationship
To create a messaging relationship for a specific message type:
- On the Message Types tab, click the name of the message type that you want to define a relationship for.
- In the Relationship & Mapping Details section, click Manage Relationship.
- If you have already created publications and subscriptions for this message type, complete the following steps:
- Select the relevant publication and subscription from the drop-down lists.
- [Optional] Check or update the publication and subscription details.
- If you want to create a new publication:
- Select "New Publication" from the drop-down list.
- Select a publishing product.
- Search for and select the source object that you want to publish information from.
- Select the field that contains the source record's unique identifier. By default, the record ID is the unique identifier on the source.
New publications are enabled by default.
- If you want to create a new subscription:
- Select "New Subscription" from the drop-down list.
- Select a subscribing product.
- Select the subscription type:
- Standard for subscriptions that use a single field to identify a target record.
- Multiple Identifier References on Target for subscriptions that use many fields to identify a target record.
- Search for and select the target object to which you want to send the data.
- Complete one of the following based on the subscription type:
- For standard subscriptions, select the field in which to store the unique identifier. This is referenced to correlate and update records. Ensure that you specify a field that is not updated manually.
- For the Multiple Identifier References on Target subscription type, all mappings at the parent level are compared to identify a matching target record.
- Click Save.
New subscriptions are enabled by default.
