New Features and Enhancements in PS Cloud Analytics Spring 2024

The following new features have been introduced in the Spring 2024 release of PS Cloud Analytics.

For ease of navigation, new features and enhancements are presented separately for PS Cloud Core Analytics and PS Cloud Advanced Analytics.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to PS Cloud Analytics Spring 2024. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

Enhancements in PS Cloud Core Analytics

The following new features have been introduced in the Spring 2024 release of PS Cloud Core Analytics.

Summary of Project Financials KPIs for Project Managers

PSA Project Overview Dashboard

The new PSA Project Overview dashboard provides a summary of your project's financial key performance indicators (KPIs) as well as complementary charts that enable you to view the following:

  • Scheduled versus actual hours and revenue variance for the last 13 weeks
  • Total budget burned to date
  • Forecast versus planned revenue variance for the current quarter

The dashboard is designed to be embedded on a project record and is configured to only display data for the current project. You can navigate to the KPI specific dashboard to view further details by clicking the view dashboard buttons at the bottom of each card. If you have a PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app, you can add a button to the Scheduling Variance card, which enables you to view its KPI specific dashboard.

Project Reporting Dataset Enhancements

We have added new input and output fields to the Project Reporting dataset to improve revenue calculations in the PSA Staffing Risk Predictor (beta) model and to enable values on dashboards that are embedded in project records to show in the project currency. For more information, see Project Reporting Flow Input Fields and Project Reporting Dataset Output Fields.

Monitor the Amount Available to Bill for a Given Project

The new PSA Project Billings dashboard reports on the amount available to bill for a given project. It enables you to:

  • View the total value available to bill for your project. This is a sum of timecards, milestones, expenses, and miscellaneous adjustments that are billable but have not yet been billed to the customer.
  • View an aging summary of the value available to bill for business records that ended up to 30, 60, 90, 120, 120+ days ago.
  • View a detailed breakdown of business records that are billable but have not yet been billed to the customer.

We recommend you embed the dashboard on a new tab of your project Lightning page.

Utilization Analytics Improvements

Utilization Analytics Security

We have introduced additional security for the utilization results dataset rows, so that only authorized users can access any individual resource's utilization data. The authorization restricts the resource to view their own utilization information or allow their managers to view their direct report’s utilization. Few selected users can also be provided unrestricted access to all the utilization data.

To enable security for the dataset, access the PS Cloud Analytics setup and configure the following options:

  • Utilization Results Security Mode: Choose "Individual" mode to restrict access to a resource to their own data or "Hierarchy" mode to restrict access to the resource or to their Managers in the hierarchy. For example, if the "Hierarchy" mode is selected, the resource and their manager will be able to view the resource's information in the dataset.
  • Utilization Results Hierarchy Mode: Choose the field to be used to establish the hierarchy to grant access to users assigned to a hierarchy. This field can be selected only if you have selected "Hierarchy" as the utilization results security mode.
  • Utilization Results Permission Control: Select this checkbox to allow the selected users with ‘View All Utilization’ enabled in Permission Controls to view all the utilization data in utilization results.

For more information, see:

For more information about the use of security predicates, see the Salesforce Help.

Enhancements in PS Cloud Advanced Analytics

The following new features have been introduced in the Spring 2024 release of PS Cloud Advanced Analytics.

Demand Modelling for Capacity Planning by Role and RPG

We have enhanced the PSA Utilization Analytics Capacity and Demand Planning dashboard as follows:

Demand Modeling

We have added a new demand modeling filter to the PSA Utilization Analytics Capacity and Demand Planning dashboard, which enables you to apply weightings by opportunity probability percentage to your unheld demand hours, so that you can estimate a realistic number of future resource hours demanded by customers.

For more information, see PSA Utilization Analytics Capacity and Demand Planning Dashboard.

Staffing Risk Predictor: Impact on Revenue Calculation

We have added revenue information to the PSA Staffing Risk Predictor (beta) dashboard, which provides insight into the revenue that can be lost, at project and resource request level, if resource requests are staffed on the predicted staffing date. For more information, see PSA Staffing Risk Predictor (beta) Dashboard.

Einstein Discovery Prediction Models for Project Managers

We have added resource request role information to the PSA Staffing Risk Predictor (beta) dashboard, which provides you with an at-a-glance view of the requested role on the resource request. For more information, see PSA Staffing Risk Predictor (beta) Dashboard.

This feature is applicable for both PS Cloud Core Analytics and PS Cloud Advanced Analytics. For more information about this feature, see Utilization Analytics Security in Enhancements in PS Cloud Core Analytics.
