New Features and Enhancements in Services CPQ Summer 2024

The following new features have been introduced in the Summer 2024 release of Services CPQ.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Services CPQ Summer 2024. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

Estimate Builder Usability Enhancements

Cell Copy and Paste

You can now copy and paste specific cells in the Work Breakdown and Hours Breakdown views in the Estimate Builder. You can copy and paste cells by right-clicking the cell, and clicking Copy Cells, Cut Cells, or Paste.

These actions are also possible using keyboard shortcuts.

For more information, see Using the Hours Breakdown and Estimate Builder Keyboard Shortcuts.

Grid Information Window

You can now click Information in the Estimate Builder toolbar to open a window that displays information about using the grid and the associated keyboard shortcuts.

For more information, see Estimate Builder Lightning Component Fields.

Fill Handle Volume Improvement

You can now use the fill handle in the Estimate Builder to copy an unlimited number of cell values. In the previous release, you could only drag vertically down a maximum of 50 records.

For more information, see Configuring an Estimate.

Record Type for Role Request Skills

We have added a Record Type Name field to the Manage Role Skill Requests window in the Estimate Builder. This field enables you to view whether the record type added to your role request is a skill or certification.

Using Fill Handle to Drag Start and End Dates

You can now use the fill handle in the Estimate Builder to copy start and end dates. In the previous release it was not possible to use the fill handle to drag start and end dates.

For more information, see Configuring an Estimate.

Guided Scoping Usability Enhancements

Managing Scoping Actions

You can now manage scoping actions and action conditions directly from a Scoping Requirement Set record page. This enables you to add, edit, and delete actions and action conditions without the need to go to a Scoping Action record page.

In the Manage Actions window, you can reorder your actions by simply dragging the actions you want to move and dropping them into the desired position.

For more information, see Managing Scoping Actions.

Multiplying the Hours of an Estimate Product's Role Requests

We have introduced the Hours Multiplier column to the Estimate Builder. The Hours Multiplier for all estimate products is set as one by default. You can change the value in the Hours Multiplier column of an estimate product to greater than one, to multiply the hours of the associated role requests by that value. The new Original Hours field contains the hours of the role request before the hours multiplier was applied.

For more information, see Managing Products on an Estimate, Estimate Product Fields, and Estimate Role Request Fields.

Visual Indicators in the Estimate Builder

When you edit a record’s bill or cost rate in the Builder, arrow indicators are now displayed next to the margin, indicating whether it has increased or decreased.

For more information, see Estimate Fields.

Exporting the Estimate Builder

We have introduced a new Export to CSV File button to the Estimate Builder. This enables you to export the Work Breakdown and Hours Breakdown views of the Builder into a CSV file.

For more information, see Configuring an Estimate and Estimate Builder Lightning Component Properties.

Guided Scoping Using Generative AI

Note:

This feature is part of the Certinia Early Adopter Program. This program is only available to a limited number of customers. For more information, contact your Customer Success Manager.

We have enhanced guided scoping to integrate generative AI. When you add estimate products into a scoping session, you can now have responses automatically populated in the Notes section of each the estimate product's requirement. The responses are generated by the new Generate Scoping Requirement Responses prompt template.

For more information, see Guided Scoping Using Generative AI Overview.

Reserved for Future Use

In this release we have added an object and associated fields. This object has been added to support feature improvements that will be available in future releases of Services CPQ. Because of this, we recommend that you don’t use the DO NOT USE object in the Summer 2024 version of the package.
