Project Planning Methodologies

To plan a project in PSA, you can use top-down or bottom-up planning, a combination of both, or add tasks from a project template.

Methodology Description More Information
Top-Down Planning In top-down planning, you set overall project objectives and the methods to achieve them, and then set assignments, resource requests and tasks for lower levels of the organizational hierarchy.
Bottom-Up Planning

In bottom-up planning, you plan tasks first and involve the resources who will be performing the tasks. You then create resource requests and assignments to form the overall project objectives.

Bottom-Up Planning
Add Project Tasks From a Template You can copy all project tasks from a project template to your current project. This maintains the existing hierarchy and project task dependencies. Adding Project Tasks from a Template
