Creating a Budget from a Product Line Item

To create a budgetClosed An amount used to manage expenditure on customer purchase orders, internal budgets, outbound vendor purchase orders and work orders. A budget must be associated with a project. from a product line item:

  1. Open the opportunity that you want to create the budget for and select the product line item you want from the Products related list. If no product line item exists, add the appropriate product to the opportunity.
  2. Select the Is Services Product Line checkbox on the product line item.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Create Project or Create Project From Template in the Project related list.
  5. Choose the service product line item to include in the budget, then click Continue. The Project Details page appears with the budget amount calculated from the selected service product line items.
  6. Complete the fields described in Project Fields.
  7. Click Create.

Displaying a page to allow you to select service product lines when creating a budget is optional and can be turned on or off by your administrator. See Project Configuration Group Options and Custom Settings.
