Configuring the AI Connector Named Credential

Note:

This feature is part of the Certinia Early Adopter Program. This program is only available to a limited number of customers. For more information, contact your Certinia Account Team.

AI Connector uses a named credential to route chat requests to the shared agent service. Configuring the named credential enables the chat container to host more than one agent. Set up the named credential once for your org, then point AI Connector at it using a custom setting.

Create the Named Credential

To create the named credential:

  1. In Setup, go to Security | Named Credentials.
  2. Create a named credential that points to the shared agent service endpoint provided by Certinia.
  3. Make a note of the named credential's API name. You need it in the next section.

For detailed information about creating named credentials in Salesforce, see the Salesforce Help.

Direct AI Connector to the Named Credential

To direct AI Connector to the named credential:

  1. In Setup, go to Custom Code | Custom Settings.
  2. Open AI Connector Settings, then click Manage.
  3. Open the Default record, or click New if one doesn't yet exist.
  4. In the AI Connector Named Credential field, enter the API name of the named credential you created.
  5. Click Save.

How AI Connector Picks the Destination

AI Connector picks the destination for each chat request using the following rules:

  1. If the AI Connector Named Credential field is populated, AI Connector uses the named credential and multi-agent routing.
  2. If that field is blank but the legacy AI Connector Service URL field is populated, AI Connector uses the legacy single-agent path.
  3. If both fields are blank, chat requests fail.
Note:

The AI Connector Service URL field is deprecated. Configure the AI Connector Named Credential to use multi-agent routing.
