Tool Execution Fields
Tool execution records provide an audit trail of the tools that an agent runs during a chat session. One record is created each time an agent runs a tool, whether the tool succeeds or fails. To view the records for a chat session, open the chat session and go to the Tool Executions related list.
The Tool Execution object includes the following fields.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Audit Source | Identifies how the audit record was created, either "Recorded during execution" or "Recorded by recovery process". |
| Autonomous Execution | The autonomous agent execution that triggered the tool execution. Empty for tool executions that originate in an agent chat, which link to a chat session instead. |
| Chat Message | The chat message that triggered the tool execution, if available. |
| Chat Session | The chat session that triggered the tool execution. Empty if the originating session is not available. |
| Correlation ID | Groups the tool executions from a single agent turn. Every tool call in the turn shares this value, so it is not unique. To identify a single execution, use Tool Call ID. |
| Error Code | The error code recorded when the tool execution fails. For example, INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR. |
| Error Message | The error message recorded when the tool execution fails. Long values are truncated. |
| Full Tool Name | The full tool name, including the provider namespace. For example, psag__staff_role. |
| Parameters | The input parameters passed to the tool, in JSON format. Long values are truncated. |
| Result | The data returned by the tool on success, in JSON format. Long values are truncated. |
| Status | The outcome of the tool execution: Success, Failure, or Unknown. Unknown means the outcome could not be confirmed. |
| Tool Call ID | A unique identifier for the tool call, used to prevent duplicate audit records for the same execution. |
| Tool Name | The name of the tool, with the provider namespace removed. For example, staff_role. |
| Tool Namespace | The namespace that identifies the tool's provider. For example, psag. |
