Creating a Project

You can create a projectClosed A collection of activities and related items to be managed over a defined time range, such as timecards, expenses, milestones and budgets. from any of the following:

Your administrator can edit several field sets using the Create Project Personal custom setting to modify the fields that appear on these pages. See Field Sets for more information.

To create a project:

  1. Depending on where you are creating the project from, click Create Project, Create Project from Template, Create Sub-Project from Template, or New Project.
  2. If required, type a name for the project in the Project Name field. Use a unique identifier so you can easily distinguish it from others for the same customer account and opportunity, as well as parent and child projects.
  3. [Optional] To make a project available for selection as a template in the Create Project From Template UI, set the Template checkbox to true.
  4. Complete the remaining fields described in Project Fields.
  5. Click Save.
