Creating Estimate Contingencies Using the Certinia Estimation Agent

You can ask the Certinia Estimation agent in an agent chat to create estimate contingency records on a project estimate, individually or several at once. Enter your request in natural language and the agent completes the operation, respecting your Salesforce field-level security for estimate contingency records.

Note:

This feature is part of the Certinia Early Adopter Program. This program is only available to a limited number of customers. For more information, contact your Certinia Account Team.

Creating an Estimate Contingency

To create an estimate contingency:

  1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
  2. Describe the contingency you want to create. For example, enter Add a contingency named Travel Buffer with a cost of $5,000 to the <estimate name> estimate. You must include an estimate contingency name. The estimate and currency are inherited automatically from your conversation context.
  3. If the agent cannot determine any mandatory details from your message, it asks for them. Provide the missing information to continue.
  4. [Optional] Define the contingency values as currency amounts (a cost amount and a billable amount) or as percentages (a cost percentage and a billable percentage).
  5. The agent creates the estimate contingency and confirms the outcome in the chat.
Notes:
  • A contingency can be linked to only one record at a time.
  • The parent estimate, currency, and Estimate Product Instance cannot be edited after an estimate contingency is created.

Creating Multiple Estimate Contingencies

To create several estimate contingencies in one request:

  1. Open an agent chat and select the Certinia Estimation agent.
  2. Describe all the contingencies you want to create in a single message. You must include an estimate contingency name for each contingency. The estimate and currency are inherited automatically from your conversation context. You can optionally define each contingency's values as currency amounts (a cost amount and a billable amount) or as percentages (a cost percentage and a billable percentage). For example, enter Add three contingencies to the <estimate name> estimate: Travel Buffer with $5,000 cost, License Overflow with $2,000 cost, and Training Reschedule with $1,500 cost.
  3. The agent displays the full list of estimate contingency records it is about to create and asks for confirmation before proceeding.
  4. Confirm to proceed. The agent creates the estimate contingencies and confirms the outcome in the chat.
Notes:
  • A contingency can be linked to only one record at a time.
  • The parent estimate, currency, and Estimate Product Instance cannot be edited after an estimate contingency is created.
